INTERNATIONAL DUET CONTEST IN ZWOLLE

The Zwolle Carillon Foundation is planning to organize an International Duet Carillon Contest on Saturday May 11, 2013. The carillon of Zwolle is tuned in equal temparement. The instrument consists of 51 bells in the range b-flat0 - c1 - d1 - e-flat1 - chrom. - d5 which are attached as such to the keyboard. The keyboard is a hybrid version of the North-European and American standards.

CONTEST
In the morning the Nederlandse Klokkenspel-Vereniging will hold its annual meeting. The city of Zwolle acts has the host. The contest takes place in the afternoon. The compulsary work, composed by Marco de Goeij, is entitled 'A Low Slow Note And An Iron Bell'. The composition is available from the secretary of the foundation as from February 1st, 2013.

The number of duos that can participate has been set at six. Every duo has 20 minutes of playing time to perform the compulsary work and compositions of their own choice.

The members of the jury are yet unknown.

There will be prizes available.
